Holistic Home Remedies – The Big Picture

2

Holistic home remedies has it’s roots in the belief that physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of your life are all involved and connected and should be used together to provide healing of different kinds. In the past it was typically viewed by many as just alternative medicine. Lately it has found its way into mainstream medical practices as a much broader approach to patient care and has been seen as a really effective approach to healing. Holistic home remedies isn’t necessarily a method of treatment but it’s a way of approaching how the treatments should be applied.

There is something that you should consider when you choose to apply some of the principles of holistic health and some of the holistic home remedies.  Remember that occasionally a small illness or symptom that you may have may be an indicator of a larger problem. Keep a record of things that go on with you and make it a practice to see the doctor on a regular basis for physical checkups and also when there appears to be something bothering you for a long time period.

In the United States the Department of Veteran Affairs has began promoting holistic health which involves holistic home remedies. In their self care manual they let veterans know about treatments available to them such as acupuncture, high dose mineral and vitamin therapy, homeopathy, herbal medicine, and other holistic health treatments. They let the veterans know that when they go to visit conventional physicians to remember that the actual visit might be over in about 10-15 minutes. They tell the veterans that those who provide holistic and alternative treatments  will frequently visit with you for over an hour. This is to determine as much as possible about you so that they could approach healing from every possible area.

One of the holistic home remedies that you might find out about is treatments for backaches. The first thing to remember is to be careful in the way you lift objects, keeping your back straight and lifting with your knees. That might sound obvious but it’s too easily forgotten. Ice packs used for a few days followed by heat packs for a few days will help. Also consider changing your mattress if you wake up with a back ache daily. Get something very different than what you presently have.

A couple holistic healing remedies to do away with headaches is to use acupressure by rubbing the space between your thumb and index finger. Run your hands under hot water and take aspirin with a cup of coffee.

Thomas Alva Edison wrote “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human body, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Those who are interested in finding alternative treatments and cutting back on medical expenses will find more out about holistic home remedies.

There are a lot more available to people than mentioned above. Some are pretty basic while others may sound a bit outlandish and may involve some suggestions that might seem to have nothing to do with what your problem is. What you’ll find, though, is that there are significant connections within your body and that the relief that you might need could be found using holistic home remedies and a holistic approach to taking care of your body.

  1. yoga is the one of the best home remedies , The physical benefits of yoga far outweigh the consequences of any types of exercises or workouts. Yoga is helpful in getting rid of the stiffness on the body by improving flexibility through the movements of the various asanas specific to muscles and joints. Due to daily practice and performance, an individual will be able to gain flexibility in every part of the body and renewed vigor. Some yogasanas require the body to make slow movements through poses which helps to increase endurance and strength of the individual. In addition to strength and flexibility, the muscles are further toned and results are evident in long lean and shapely muscles. Most importantly, yoga is extremely useful and instrumental in warding off various kinds of disorders at a number of aches and pains. Most people who suffer from back pain, pain in the shoulders, crick in the neck, headaches and overall body pain find much relief in the various movements of yoga. Another vital constituent in the practice of yoga is the emphasis of breathing aka Pranayama. Most people have shallow breath patterns, which are the primary cause of most disorders. Pranayama aims to correct, modulate and heighten the practice of breathing in order to achieve maximum results. Through the practice of Pranayama one learns to focus the attention on the breathing pattern and to use the lungs in a more beneficial manner that will prove advantageous for the entire body. Certain types of breathing techniques and Pranayama helps to clear the nostrils and the nasal passages, and even go so far in soothing the central nervous system in order to benefit the body and mind.
